Review | Nonabox January

I can easily say that this has been my favourite Nonabox so far!

I was a little nervous about receiving this box, as I had seen a few people posting on Instagram and Twitter that they sadly hadn't a great selection in their box this month, but I could not be more pleased with what we got!
What's inside?
Ella's Kitchen The Orange One Pack x5
Ella's Kitchen Banana & Blueberry Baby Brekkie
Ella's Kitchen Raisin & Prune Baby Brekkie
Ella's Kitchen Mangoes Mangoes Mangoes
Palmers Skin Therapy Oil
Children's Farm Hair and Bodywash
Cloud B Lavender Pillow

As you can see, we were pretty spoiled this month!

We are huge fans of Ella's Kitchen, so to receive such a huge bundle of pouches was fantastic! Especially as Aria has been going through a bit of a fussy phase with weaning and it seems to be all she will take - see my little ranting video here!
I'm also a big lover of the Palmers range, so it was lovely to have a little something in there for me to pamper myself with.

The Cloud B lavender pillow might be my favourite thing in this box. I looked up the brand online and realised that I had seen quite a few of their products before either with other bloggers or in stores, so I was pleased to get such a lovely item from them. The lavender is fragrant but subtle enough to put in Aria's cot and it not overpower the room (something I find lavender can do at times). She loves snuggling into it (and chewing it, of course!) and I see it already being a big hit.
I had never heard of Children's Farm before, and from the packaging I wasn't blown away, but having read a bit more about them I am now a big fan! They use 98% natural ingredients and are suitable for eczema prone skin - Aria has a slight bit on her shoulder so I'm looking forward to trying this in her bath tonight to see if it helps.

Overall, this box was simply wonderful! I'm extremely grateful to receive these each month for Aria and I to review and discover new products.

Bathtime with Cussons | #voiceofmums

My favourite part of the day has to be bath time!

There's something so wonderful about bathtime with a baby. Whether it's making them a Marge Simpson hairdo out of bubbles, splashing so much you soak the floor, or actually hopping in the bath with them... it seems to be such a special bonding moment for the family.
We especially love bathtime at the weekend, as Maya is here to help with the night time routine, and Aria loves sharing her rubber ducky with her!

We made a special video on our YouTube channel for Cussons #voiceofmums campaign, which I will link below if you haven't already seen it! Make sure to check out or poem too - I feel a knock on the door from the songwriters at SyCo coming! Haha...

The Cussons Mum & Me bath range is a huge hit in our house. I love how gentle it is on Aria's skin, and unlike other products it doesn't create a lot of bubbles, which I think can give an 'artificial' feel for babies. A little goes a long way with it too, so you definitely get your money's worth!
Do you and your little ones love bath time as much as we do?

*we are extremely lucky to have the opportunity to work with Cussons on the #voiceofmums campaign.

Aria's Seven Month Update

What a month of milestones we've had! Aria has changed so much these last few weeks, more so than any other month.
  • The biggest of all, Aria has her two bottom teeth!
  • She is now sleeping through the night (hurrah!)
  • She's finally mastered sitting up unaided.
  • She is moving non-stop (although not crawling yet).
  • She can hold herself standing with minimal support (walking soon maybe?!)
  • She's spent her first night away from mummy and daddy (read all about our trip to Manchester here!)
Why is it so hard to photograph a baby's teeth?!
I'm so happy to say Aria is now sleeping through the night! She has been since Christmas (a full nights sleep may have been the best gift of all...). She goes down anywhere between 6:30 and 7:00pm and that is her until until 6:30/7:00am! We have had the very odd morning where she has slept until 8:30, but naturally I then worry as to why she's sleeping so much, so don't fully enjoy that extra time in bed!

We are on stage 2 of weaning and after a little bit of fussing, Aria us now happily taking foods with more texture. She loves pasta, chicken, soup (daddy's home made) as well as a lot of finger foods, which I did a post on here. Now she has her bottom teeth through, she's loving being able to bite her food rather than gum away at it until she can get a bit off!

We are doing a mixture of spoon feeding and baby led weaning, which is working really well for us. I wish my kitchen floor could say the same! A good excuse for a dog perhaps?
Our routine hasn't changed too much, other than Aria being down to two or three naps a day. This helps a lot with getting out and about, although she will only nap in her pram... No sleepy cuddles for mummy!!

I'm such a bad mummy, I haven't had Aria weighed since the beginning of December! I'm hopefully going to get her weighed next week though - I'm curious to see what the little lady is!

We are well into size 6-9 months now, but I'm sure she should be in 9-12 leggings, she's got such long legs I'm getting no wear out of the lovely Zara purchases I made in the sales!

I can't believe what a month this has been for Aria, she's growing so much! I can't wait for next month (I know, I say this every update!) as I think she will be on the move!!

Manchester | Australasia & The Lion King

You'll know by my recent Twitter spam and blog posts that Tom and I were spending our first night away from Aria this week. A strange feeling to say the least, but we certainly made sure our night away was extra special!

We headed on our little trip to Manchester for a night of wining, dining, the theatre and of course, shopping!

Rather than spend ages on a lengthy post, I'll tell our little story with some snaps from out night away!
The entrance to Australasia is through a small glass box by the Armani bulding... a hidden little treasure!
Surf and Turf... Fillet steak and half lobster - delicious doesn't begin to cover it!!
Chocolate torte with coconut ice cream for me.
Panacota for Tom - how beautiful!
Time for The Lion King!
We had such a wonderful time away, but so happy to be back home with our little lady!

... and if you saw my Instagram picture, yes, I did cave and buy the Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow! Blog post to follow!

What's in my Make-Up Bag?

Tom and I are heading to Manchester tomorrow for the evening (our first night away from Aria!). Very bitter-sweet, as we will obviously miss her loads, but we have a very exciting evening planned!
We are going to my favourite restaurant, Australasia and then to see The Lion King in theatre! To say I'm excited is an understatement. We are also staying in the fabulous hotel, The Lowry, which you may remember from our Babymoon trip last year!

As it's an special evening, an extra special effort will be made to look my most fabulous! It's not often I get to get all dressed up these days, so I'm looking forward to getting glammed up.

So here is what will be in my make-up bag:

YSL Touch√© √Člcat in shade 02
Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer in shade 02

Make sure to check back next week to hear all about our night away, and to find out if I made that cheeky purchase!

Weaning | Finger Foods

We are well into our weaning journey now and it's safe to say we have a foodie on our hands! I don't think there is a food Aria has tried that she hasn't like... what a little piglet!
One of the things we introduced a few weeks ago was finger foods. We are currently doing a combination of baby led weaning (BLW) and spoon feeding Aria. There are days where she can be extremely fussy and will only feed herself (how independent!), so I thought I'd share with you a few finger foods we have tried and tested, as I have had quite a few people ask what kinds of things we give Aria!

  • Toast (French Toast is a huge hit with Aria!)
  • Apple or Pear, peeled and partly cooked.
  • Orange segments.
  • Banana (a good idea to get a mesh feeder, as this is a pretty messy one!)
  • Dried fruits. Apricots and Prunes are Aria's favourites, and prunes really help if they have constipation.
  • Cucumber.
  • Carrot, partly cooked so soft enough to chew.
  • Finger sandwiches.
These are just a few of the things Aria loves, but we've also tried bits from the baby aisle like Organix Rice Cakes, Ella's Kitchen Puffs and Heinz Biscoti. These are great on-the-go snack, and offer new textures for her to try.

We've also tried dipping carrot sticks or toast in hummus, recommended by Bella at Along Came Jay! which is a new favourite of Aria's. It's a lovely little snack we can share together, and so easy to make.

What finger foods does your little one love? Leave me a comment below, I love hearing new ideas for things to give Aria!

Weekend Baby Style #3

Okaaaaay, so I may have a little shopping problem...

Here Aria is in yet another new outfit! Technically this doesn't count, as I was exchanging something I had already bought a few weeks ago.

This little number is from Marks & Spencer and was a bargain at £10! I mean, how well can this little one rock mint green and a peter pan collar?!

Review | The Gro Hush

A calm, content little baby is something every parent strives for. And for those occasions where your baby just won't settle, we often turn to white noise to help sooth...

The Gro Company have brought out a handy (litterally) little device called The Gro Hush, a portable white noise baby calmer, which transmits soothing white noise directly to your baby without disturbing others around you.
When we were asked to review The Gro Hush I was extremely excited, but a little nervous to see whether it would calm a then very strong-minded five month old!

When it arrived I was immediately impressed by its compact size. There is an elastic strap which allows you to hold it against your baby's ear, while playing one of three white noise sounds (heartbeat, rainfall and waves). There is a soft cushioning around the device so it sits softly against your baby's ear while soothing them. This also is removable to wash if needed! It also comes in a protective case, which is perfect if popping in your changing bag!
I mentioned earlier that when testing The Gro Hush, Aria was already five months old. This unfortunately meant we did struggle with the device, as she was already 'set in her ways' with how she liked to be settled. i.e. not snuggled delicately into mummy like a newborn! So for us, The Gro Hush didn't provide any comfort to Aria. However, I did let my friend use this on her newborn when round visiting, and it worked in less than five minutes!

Overall, I do think The Gro Hush is a wonderful product, but is much better suited for a newborn/younger baby.

Have you tried The Gro Hush? What were your thoughts?

*we were very kindly sent The Gro Hush to review. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Weekend Baby Style #2

This weekend has been a quiet one with the atrocious weather, and the fact that Aria is in the process of cutting her bottom two teeth!! I'm hoping they come through soon, as I seriously don't have enough bibs to see us through the day with all this drooling...

This outfit is a new one that we picked up earlier this week, and I couldn't wait to put it on Aria!

We had a couple of things to exchange in Next and naturally, I headed straight to the baby section to see what goodies I could find. One of my favourite things we picked up has to be this jumper! If they made this in my size, I'd be all over it!

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Review | Sudocrem Care & Protect

I view my baby's bum in the same way I view my face. That's a pretty crazy statement, but hear me out...

I look after my skin daily, pouring over lotions and potions that will prevent any breakouts, blemishes, and dare I say wrinkles, rather than trying to treat them should they appear... so why not do the same for my baby's beautiful bum and her nappy rash?
Sudocrem Care & Protect helps to care for your baby's skin, and prevent the cause of nappy rash. It's gentle formula is suitable to use at every nappy change, and the formula is so light that it just melts into your baby's skin - no more dragging and pulling of heavy creams!
Not only is the formula an absolute dream, but the packaging is pretty wonderful too. It comes in small portable tube - perfect changing bag/handbag size - and comes with a flip-top lid, meaning it's much easier to apply one-handed (I can't count how many things I have to do one handed now I'm a mum!) and there is no fear of losing the lid!

Sudocrem Care & Protect, as well as the infamous Sudocrem Antiseptic Healing Cream is available as most pharmacists.

*we were kindly sent the Sudocrem Care & Protect for the purpose of this review. However, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
